NREL – National Renewable Energy Laboratory
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is the only U.S. national laboratory solely dedicated to advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies from concept to commercial application. For 35 years, NREL innovations, analysis, and expertise have enabled the emergence of a U.S. clean energy industry and led to numerous success stories from across the laboratory.
NREL’s 327-acre main campus in Golden, Colorado, is a living model of sustainable energy. The laboratory also operates the National Wind Technology Center on 305 acres located 13 miles north of its main campus.

Delft Institute of Technology
The RTDS installation at TU Delft consists of 8 racks with 10 PB5 and 36 3PC cards, capable of simulating grids in 2 µs and 50 µs step size.Additionally the racks have analog/digital I/O, remote I/O, two GTNetx2, and one GTSync card. The RTDS Simulator allows to test protection and con-trols in real time, where an hour in the real world equals an hour in the simulator. Utilizing modular custom computing hardware and software, simulations performed encompass results from DC up to electromagnetic transients. Inherently, these results include information regarding the system load flow and transient stability, as well as that of harmonics and faster disturbances.

The Electrical Energy and Power Systems (EEPS) group at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is at the forefront of research and teaching in the field of electric power engineering in the United Kingdom and internationally with its 10 permanent academic members of staff and its 30+ researchers. EEPS People are in constant contact with industry and at the vanguard of the research trends in electric power engineering. As the home to the National Grid High Voltage Research Centre, the EEPS group is very strong in many aspects of high voltage engineering. Particular areas of competency include transformer insulation and monitoring, polymeric insulation and power system transients.
The Grenoble Electrical Engineering laboratory (G2Elab)
Merging the former LEG (Grenoble Power Electrical Laboratory), LEMD (Laboratory of Electrostatics and Dielectric Materials), and LMN (Laboratory of Magnetism of the Ship) in 2007, G2Elab nowadays covers a wide spectrum of expertise in the field Electrical Engineering. Its activity can be summarized by the following keywords: electrical energy, materials, innovative processes and systems, modeling and design methods and software. The research carried out in G2Elab ranges from long term research up to collaborative research supported by a strong involvement in partnerships with large companies and SMEs. With more than 100 permanent staff, 110 PhD and 50 Masters, G2Elab appears as a major actor both nationally and internationally in these areas.
