Power Quality / EMC
Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is a premiere research institute in India. Several research publications, patents and break -through innovations have seen the sun from here. Apart from degree courses including under -graduate, post -graduate and PhD, almost every field has a research laboratory well equipped and with expert guidance from world -renowned professors. I have worked extensively on power quality improvement in standalone generating systems with simulation and real -time implementation in laboratory environment with successful validation of results. The institute ranks among the top universities in the world especially in Electrical Engineering.
The Institute was founded in 1946 as the LAS Institute of Energetics and Machine-Building. As a result of the reorganization of the recent years, 12 laboratories function at the Institute, and the Latvian Technological Centre was founded in 1993 embracing 32 firms, mainly connected with the scientific research areas of the Institute of Physical Energetics.
The Institute of Power Engineering (IEn) is one of the largest institutes in Poland and Central Europe providing research in the field of energy technologies. The Institute is a modern state owned research and development center. The Institute covers a wide area of energy research from expert works for the power sector, to investigations of the most advanced technologies of energy generation, such as fuel cells, clean coal technologies and renewable energy sources. The advantage of the Institute is the experienced scientific, engineering and technical staff as well as numerous modern, sometimes unique laboratory facilities.
Laborelec is a leading research and competence centre in electrical power technology. It was established in 1962 in order to support Belgian electricity companies with research, development, and specialized services. Today, it is part of GDF SUEZ, a world leader in energy. Our competences cover the entire electricity value chain: generation, transmission, distribution, storage and end-use. We offer specialized research and services in each of these domains, to companies in all parts of the world. Our headquarters are located near Brussels, and we also operate branch offices in the Netherlands, in Germany and in the Middle-East and a subsidiary in Chile.
CREST was established in 1993, striving to be a national centre of excellence in the field of renewable energy system technology research. CREST is one of the leading providers in renewable energy education in Europe, operating courses on undergraduate as well as postgraduate level. Currently more than 350 students are registered on the various postgraduate courses on renewable energy systems technologies, which include a distance learning course. The applied photovoltaics research group will lead the participation in this.
SINTEF Energy Research is part of the SINTEF Group, one of the largest non-profit research organizations in Northern Europe. SINTEF Energy Research is engaged in contract research in the national and international marketplace. Its R&D activities are focused on power production and energy converting, and also transmission and use of energy, including industrial processes and products, indoor climate and energy use in buildings. Issues concerning the deregulation of the electricity markets in Scandinavia and other parts of the world have for many years been a main activity. Contributions are also made to different energy related problems, which may arise onshore and offshore. These tasks range from system analysis to component and equipment assessments. SINTEF Energy Research has a staff of about 230 that ensures close co-operation between power engineering and mechanical engineering and focuses particularly on environmental issues. The institute has been a major actor on the energy research arena in the EU for many years.
The Institute of Energy Systems, Energy Efficiency and Energy Economics (ie3) is one of the leading German higher education institutes in the field of energy systems, energy efficiency and energy economy with the focus on electrical networks. The institute emerged out of the amalgamation of the Chair of Energy Systems and Energy Economy by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Rehtanz together with the RWE endowed professorship in Energy Efficiency and the related field of work of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Johanna Myrzik. Researches and studies solve technical and economic problems for a reliable and sustainable electricity system of the future.
As part of the Technical University of Dortmund, the institute receives public funding and has established cooperation with industry partners like RWE, Innogy, Amprion, Westnetz and PSI. The 1000m² lab is currently used by 40 employees of the institute and for the research activities a power range up to 160kW is available. In the years 2016 and 2017, large further expansions of the laboratory are planned.
TUBITAK is the major RTD agency of Turkey. Energy research is ongoing in TUBITAK Marmara. Research Center (MRC) Energy Institute. Research areas include: testing and modelling power plant control systems. evaluation of the user factor; measuring type of load. Evaluating the technical and economical feasibility of several distribution automation systems. analysing robustness of power systems; development of automation systems for production and distribution facilities; and determination of the criteria for the development of power systems.
Merging the former LEG (Grenoble Power Electrical Laboratory), LEMD (Laboratory of Electrostatics and Dielectric Materials), and LMN (Laboratory of Magnetism of the Ship) in 2007, G2Elab nowadays covers a wide spectrum of expertise in the field Electrical Engineering. Its activity can be summarized by the following keywords: electrical energy, materials, innovative processes and systems, modeling and design methods and software. The research carried out in G2Elab ranges from long term research up to collaborative research supported by a strong involvement in partnerships with large companies and SMEs. With more than 100 permanent staff, 110 PhD and 50 Masters, G2Elab appears as a major actor both nationally and internationally in these areas.
